Are You Feeling Tired and Overwhelmed?

Have you ever felt tired and overwhelmed? Does grief weigh you down? I would encourage you to turn to the One who can give you rest. We live in a world that gets more stressful and chaotic every year. Grief is a common experience that all humanity shares at some point. During my husband's illness and then after his passing, I started experiencing some physical changes. There are periods when I get weak and weighed down with fatigue. Today was one of those days. When these spells occur, I make sure to get extra rest and remember that the Lord is my strength. Where do you turn when you're feeling tired, weak, or overwhelmed by life? Let me encourage you with a truth from God's word. It's a well-known and well-loved passage by many. I love the way the Amplified Classic version states it:

"Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not faint or grow weary; there is no searching of His understanding. He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He increases strength [causing it to multiply and making it to abound]. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and [selected] young men shall feebly stumble and fall exhausted; But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired."-Isaiah 40:28-31

If you find yourself discouraged and weighed down, lift your eyes to the one who loves you and knows you by name. Rest in His love for you. Sit with Him and let His truth minister to your spirit. Father God,

Thank you for my dear friend reading this today. If they are weak, please grant them your strength. If they are tired and worn down by life, may they find hope and rest in your presence. Draw them to yourself, and may they find renewed hope that comes from knowing you. Please comfort all who mourn, and may they be comforted by your Spirit. Thank you for each one of them, and please continue to be with them on their journey.
