New Horizons

Life does not always work out the way you planned. There are challenges and unmet expectations. Loved ones die, and dreams change. Maybe you are at a place where you feel uncertain about what lies ahead. The sun has set on what you once held dear, and the night is dark. You are not alone.

When my world was at its darkest, and grief weighed me down, I found rest and comfort in the Lord's presence. In the years since, He has slowly awakened something new in me. As I look ahead, there is a glorious light peaking over the horizon. I don't know what's ahead, but I trust that the Lord has something beautiful. There is a sense of hope and excitement for what this new day holds.

I recently wrote a poem that is actually more of a prayer, and I would love to share it with you today.

New Horizons

There's something on the horizon I can feel it, but I can't yet see it There is a stirring inside It started somewhere deep, somewhere sacred I feel it rising, higher and higher.

Every dream, every heartache, every triumph Each one laid as a foundation for what is to come Now comes the stillness, listening for the Father's voice Gently led and lovingly prepared, I wait I wait for guidance, I wait for purpose, I wait for God.

When the Spirit says, "Go", I must be ready When the Spirit calls, I am there Gentle whispers and hidden dreams The LORD is calling, and I long to obey Where does this journey begin, where does it end?

It begins and ends with Jesus His perfect plan to unfold Eyes must be open, ears positioned to hear Ready for whatever the LORD has planned Doors that the LORD opens, I will joyfully walk through.

"Remember not the former things, or consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." - Isaiah 43:18-19

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." - Jeremiah 29:11

If you are at the edge of a new beginning, I encourage you to seek the LORD and trust Him to guide you. He will show you the way you should go.

Father God,

Thank you for the new horizons and new beginnings that you put in place for our good and your glory. Encourage my friend reading this, and may they step out in faith, trusting you to guide them. May they sit with you and delight in your presence.
