Remembering
Taking time to remember and make new memories. A few days ago, it would have been our 20th anniversary. I took a trip to Branson, Missouri, to celebrate and remember. Here are a few highlights and blessings from the trip.

A few days ago, it would have been our 20th anniversary. How is that possible? So many memories and so many changes since the day we said, "I do". How do you take the time to remember while attempting to move forward? Is it possible to make new memories while still taking time to remember? Yes, it is. David and I took our honeymoon in Branson, MO. This past week, I took a few days and spent some time there. I shopped, attended a show, and went to Silver Dollar City. If you have never been to the Sight and Sound theatre to see one of their shows, I highly recommend it. I was able to attend their production of "David" for the second time. It was just as powerful the second time as it was the first. Overall, it was a wonderful time, and I know my husband would have enjoyed it as well.
Throughout the entire trip, God allowed me to encounter some beautiful people who were His hands and feet. They provided comfort, laughter, and even hugs during what could have been an emotionally difficult time. I had multiple waitresses who were absolutely delightful and kind. God placed a sweet family next to me during the show at Sight and Sound. The wife sat right next to me, and as we were leaving, she hugged me and told me she would be praying for me. I met so many wonderful people who worked at the stores I visited. One of them even hugged me as I was getting ready to leave. There was an usher at the Sight and Sound theatre who truly delighted in his work and made so many people smile and laugh as he assisted them.
There were a couple of moments where the grief hit, and that's okay. There were many things that reminded me of David throughout the trip, but I was able to remember them with a small. The grief will always be there, but as I continue to draw close to the LORD, His peace and joy guard my heart. It's important to remember the good things, just as it is important to forgive the bad.
Let me end this week's blog with the following scripture. May the LORD guide, direct, encourage, and strengthen you in the days ahead. Keep your eyes open so you may see the love of God in the people around you. Trust in Him and allow Him to guide you on the path He has laid out for you.
"A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother." - Proverbs 18:24
Father God,
Be with my dear friend as they read this. Guide and direct them in the days ahead. May they find rest in your presence, and if they are grieving, please provide them comfort, just as you comforted me all those years ago. Walk with them in the days ahead and may your peace reign in the hearts always."
In Jesus' name,
Sarah
Be blessed, my friend.
